CR replaces KLEENtect at 1/3 the price

  • (Page originallly written in 2018. Revised and brought up to date March 2024) Between 2002 and 2009 around 150 Land Rovers were done with KLEENtect. This was a paint finish consisting of 2 coatings, a first, very tough anti-corrosive coating and on top of this we sprayed a clear coat containing PTFE. We gave a 10 year guarantee on the KLEENtect.
  • The KLEENtect has performed very well. So far there have been no guarantee claims. I did a KLEENtect colours (black) job on the G4 110 of John Pearson, executive editor of Land Rover Owner magazine around 10 years ago. He displays it every year on the LRO stand of the annual LRO show.

  • But unfortunately this is not a promotion for KLEENtect because I can't get the materials any more and the last one was done in 2009. (Expect to pay at least £2,000 more for a KLEENtected vehicle).

The CR coating

  • Replacees KLEENtect.So why am I telling you all this? Because I introduced a replacement for KLEENtect in 2015 called the CR coating. It's not as pretty as the KLEENtect. (It's a heavy wax coating in black), but I give a 10 year guarantee, like the KLEENtect, its one third the price of KLEENtect and can be done in a day whereas I used to need a week to do the KLEENtect
  • New material.It will soon be 10 years since I introduced the CR coating and I have only had a handful of warrantee claims so I think it's a big success and adds a lot of value to a vehicle. I often say to Defender customers: "Well I think we've added 2 or 3 thousand pounds in value today"and they always agree with me. testimonials The KLEENtect was similarly untried when I first brought it out and I'm very grateful to the customers who had faith in it from the beginning. (The CR coating was not untried for me because I know the pedigree of the material and I used it many years ago in my "colour matched wheelarches" service and noted that when I redid these cars 10 years later the coating in the wheelarches had lasted extremely well.   • Anti-abrasion additive proven to work.I use the same anti-abrasion additive in the CR that I use in the Before 'n' After improved waxoyl and this IS tried and tested.
  • A customer says.
